The concept of Library 2.0 borrows from Web 2.0 which surrounded the different kind of services that giving by any web site in recent IT era. Library 2.0 is not overnight concept that apply to Library instead it is continues development process through IT professional as well as Librarian( from traditional system) because our LIS education system did not make any grantee that our new generation Librarian become Information scientist that they are know technical system as well as IT savvy professional.
The term "Library 2.0" was used by Michael Casey on his blog LibraryCrunch and after that in different platforms the LIS scientists point out the inheritance of Web 2.0 in Library management. Basically the whole scenario of Web 2.0 service are come to our Library House Keeping and it make positive impulsion to LIS scientist that how overall library management system are changed or upgrade according to Web 2.0
But one question arise that Library 2.0 is Myth or Reality? If it is myth why thousands papers/blog/articles are written and if it is reality, how we can implement. With the rise of Google, Amazon, Wikipedia and more, how many user step forward to come in Library and how many users login the Library Website for search as when Michael Jackson was born because we have learned this type of questions arises in the reference service, that place we have skip the traditional mythology of library service because today we live Information Technology environment and information are comes together in our finger. So what is prosperity to implement the Library 2.0.
A simple is apply that concept
WEB 2.0 + LIBRARY = LIBRARY 2.0
Now question arise what is web 2.0. For this answer if we study the working environment of web 2.0 then we easily understand the Library 2.0 concept.
First the Web 2.0 concepts surrounded in Creators, User interface, Content, Application, Navigator and Presentation
(a) In Creator, a line among user, developers and contributor and in many cases
the user may be contributor as well as collaborators
(b) In User Interface, the layout of services are based on user approach that
means not predefined manner .
(c) The Content of web based on semantic markup
(d) Application work on scripting language such as XML
(e) Navigator means the customization of web
(f) The presentation of web content are based on Ajax, CSS and XHTML
But matter still unanswered that how above mentioned concept of web 2.0 are makes Library 2.0.
There are following fundamental key modules are necessary for development of Library 2.0
(1) WIKI: Wiki is a piece of server software that allows users to freely create and edit Web page content using any Web browser. (5) IM/Chat: Instant messaging(IM)/Chat is a form of real time communication between two client. Generally IM/chat is text based conversion between two clints. Some popular IM are AIM, ICQ, Skype, Google Talk,YM. With the help of these IM the Librarian may be share update information related to the Library

OPAC work on the Library catalogue principle where user enter the search keyword such as author, title, collaborator, publisher etc and OPAC will follow the user approach and then search the documents.
Some popular OPAC are:

(The list is indicative only)
So, although new tools of 2.0 technologies can help to reach users and stockholders to improve services, the library have to be guarded of making any challenge and also positively and forward to service without limitation of boundary.
